About

I have three loves in life (other than the obvious – and somewhat cliché – family, friends, shoes etc.) and these are:

Books …

… Music …

… and Baking.

Baked goods are the food of my tummy; books are the food of my imagination and mind; and (yes – you probably guessed it) music is the food of my soul. Without these three things I think I would internally combust within 24 hours, give or take an hour or two.

You may ask yourself why I originally start this blog about baking? Well it’s simple really – I never got to bake as a child; my mum didn’t want us to be able to make, and thus eat, any cakes.  So when a friend took pity on me and taught me how to bake a cake, and when another friend bought me the Hummingbird Bakery recipe books, I needed an excuse to try them all out.  What could have been better than a blog-based challenge? My mission, therefore, is:

To attempt any recipe that is weird, wonderful or wacky; healthy or unhealthy; intriguing or intensely tasty-looking.

This weblog is brilliant Parastou, I didn’t know you weren’t allowed to bake cakes!!

I really love your cakes, I tried to cook your blueberry cake as you gave me the recipe BUT it wasn’t like yours (I don’t know why!!), but it tasted really good (I still don’t know if I need to put the icing in the fridge first and them put it on cake or put it on cake and then cool it!!!!).

Love you and your blog my bake-o-holic cousin.xxxxxx
